Acne Treatment
Acne Condition
Acne is a common skin condition that affects women and men of all ages. Over 85% of adolescents by the age of 24 and up to 50% of adults over 25 years of age are affected by acne. 20% of those affected by acne develop severe scars as a result of inflammation, which may permanently change their whole lives. But there is hope. While acne is not curable, it is treatable. We now know more about controlling this condition than ever before. The secret to managing acne is prevention — stopping this condition before it exhibits visual symptoms. Once you have found an acne treatment that helps you accomplish this, it’s important to stick with it. Even after pimples disappear, you may need to continue treatment to keep new blemishes at bay. It’s also crucial to begin treatment as soon as the first signs appear; the sooner you address your acne, the less likely you are to experience permanent damage to your skin.
Acne is a skin condition in which your pores have become clogged with debris and is commonly referred to blackheads or whiteheads, but there are several other forms of acne. Acne is not subjective to whom or where it can occur; it can appear on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders, and upper arms. At times the end results can lead to disfiguring permanent scars, pot marks and skin discoloration. Treating acne correctly is crucial to keeping your skin beautiful, clear and vibrant. Although there is not yet a known cure for acne, it can be controlled effectively with the appropriate Skin Essence treatment.
Our professionally trained skin care professionals will consult with you regarding your specific needs and provide a comprehensive skin analysis. What are Acne Scars and how are they Formed?
In the simplest terms, scars form at the site of an injury to tissue. They are the visible reminders of injury and tissue repair. In the case of acne, the injury is caused by the body’s inflammatory response to bacteria and dead cells in plugged follicles. Two main types of acne scars are depressed areas, such as ‘ice-pick scars’, and raised thickened tissue, such as keloids.
When tissue suffers an injury from acne, the body rushes its ‘repair kit’ to the injury site. Among the elements of the repair kit are white blood cells and an array of inflammatory molecules that are assigned the task of repairing tissue and fighting infection. However, when their job is done, they may leave a somewhat messy acne repair site, in the form of fibrous scar tissue or eroded tissue.
“Understanding acne gives you the tools needed to gain control over it. On the other hand, if you don’t understand acne, we can guarantee that you will have difficulty with your treatment. If you don’t understand how acne develops, you are unlikely to follow the treatment consistently and accurately which may lead to discouragement”

Acne & Scar Treatment
Microdermabrasion is performed in combination with chemical peels, which can enhance the penetration of the chemical peel. Chemical peels refer to a broad range of chemical treatments of the skin. Some of these may be appropriate for treating certain acne scarring. Topical treatments such as alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), or glycolic acids may also be used to remove some of the superficial layers of the skin and improve skin texture.
Microdermabrasion is suitable for all ages, both women and men. People experience different types of scarring from acne, and every person is left with different facial topography. Therefore, acne scar treatment must be addressed on a case by case basis. No single treatment is right for everyone.
Microdermabrasion resurfaces the skin by gently removing the outer skin layer promoting a vibrant, softer and glowing skin. This process removes dead skin cells and encourages circulation to the treated skin resulting in improved skin and promoting cell renewal plus LED blue light therapy to kill the bacteria. Each Treatment is $140, Buy 6 Series get 1 FREE.
Acne Blue Light Therapy
There is a pain free non-invasive approach to the control of acne for all age groups.
The blue light therapy works by bathing the skin with a special wavelength of pure light. It’s non-invasive, completely painless and doesn’t damage the skin in any way. This special wavelength and intensity of light has been found to create a toxic environment for the bacteria which cause acne. The bacteria die and the incidence of new acne decreases. A secondary effect of this light is that it stimulates the body’s natural repair mechanisms to further assist skin recovery. Clients visit Skin Essence Day Spa twice a week for four weeks. You will see some improvement at two weeks and you will see some at four weeks but the full impact of the treatment is progressive and goes on after your light therapy course has been completed. Each Session is 20 Minutes. $60. Buy 6 Series get 1 FREE.
